About Us

At SAUSD Arts, we make sure every student can learn through visual art, music, theatre, dance, and media arts. The “Arts for All” approach helps students read, write, and think in new ways, making learning stronger for everyone, especially for English Learners and students with special needs. Our programs help students build creativity, confidence, and teamwork, skills they’ll use no matter what career they choose.

We follow the ART approach (Access, Responsiveness, and Transformative learning), and grow arts learners through Exposure, Enrichment, and Entrenchment. In California, the creative economy supports over 760,000 jobs and adds hundreds of billions of dollars to our state’s economy. By learning the arts, SAUSD students gain the same creative and communication skills that power those jobs and prepare them to be world-ready scholars.
